Pere Marquette Trout Fishing

Had a chance to slip out and do a little fly fishing with Fred Steuber of SilverSides Outfitters. We had a great day throwing hoppers and streamers on the Pere Marquette River. I would have to say that streamer fishing and also using hopper flies is about the best way to fish the PM. We saw only two canoes and we had the whole river to ourselves. We caught a lot of fish too. I had my chances at some really trophy fish but they missed the fly. One of them was an absolute beast. Had to be 24-25 inches long. The hopper fishing was great. Fred was excellent at rowing always pointing the boat in the direction where the trout were. Pere Marquette trout fishing is a great adventure, and worth checking out with Fred at SilverSides
