The morning started off cold, but it ended up being a pretty nice day - and good fishing day too. Capt. Tom put us on the fish and showed us how to catch'em. Thanks Capt. Tom for a great fishing trip!

I Tried the St. Clair River today and the results were not good. There seems to be a shortage of fish in the river system at present I hope thing improve. Limits should be the norm now but we are struggling and fishing hard averaging 5 to 10 fish per trip. The walleye we are catching however are nice size like this 6 pounder in the picture. The Detroit River maybe the place to fish. There are a lot of other fish in the Detroit River like bass, sheepshead, and perch to keep you busy while attemping to catch walleyes.

We fished with Capt Tom in the Detroit River and boated these eyes for the Q. We jigged with 1/2 oz. purple with a gulp worm was our best. The biggest was near 5 pound. We go with Tom and he puts us on fish. We lost several and caught sheepshead, bass, and lost a Musky.

Eric with this nice longbeard. Turkey hunting in full swing now. St Clair river fishing remains good with most people getting fish not always limits. The size of the walleyes seem bigger but the the number are down from last season. Jigging in the daytime and whipping at night are the preferred techiques. If you never tried either of these fishing methods we can show you. e-mail Capt Tom for an availible date.

Fished the Musky Club (MOMC) tournment with Van and Heath scatched out a near limit. Water where we prefished was dirty making things tough. But, the tournment was a big success. Hats off to the Musky club and DYC for hosting.

Fishing is great. I kind of wish this weather would cool down a little to slow thing down a bit. If your thinking about going now is the time don't wait. The shiners have migrated to shore and the walleyes and salmon are right behind. For salmon troll downstream with body baits and spoons high in the water column profile. Walleyes are near the bottom. SM Bass is around too with suckerfish trying there best to swallow the abundant minnows in the river. We at North Bay have dates available. E-mail or call.
