Muskie fishing is going strong now with the beat action on the South shore (Canada). We took the fish in the picture over the holiday weekend on a perch crank bait on the boards. Took us a while to reel in because we had some choppy water. Measured 52 inches and 30 #. The bass fishing has been our best charters for family and friends that want none-stop action. Limits are the norm and we are fishing close to shore on the American side from 9 mile to Huron Pte. We found some perch and a few walleyes in the Dumping Grounds. The best walleyes are in the hole out in the middle of the lake. FLW tournment folks are in town to fish are wonderful bass fishery.

The Detroit River Walleye fishing has slowed but if you like Silver Bass there are plenty. Minnows on small jigs are doing the trick. Please release the Smallmouth Bass they are not in season. Moving upstream good Walleye fishing can be found in the “dumping ground” area of Lake St. Clair. In-line crawler harnesses plus early morning fishing equals a catch of“eyes" plus perch. Walleyes have also been taken regularly off the weed beds at Metro Beach in 8 to 12 feet of water.
The Perch are showing up near the Ruscum River on the Canadian side of the lake. There are Walleyes in the above location as well. St. Clair River has been producing nice fish. Most of the action is whipping/trolling in the evening.

This weekend was opening of the Muskie Season on St. Clair. Good numbers of fish were reported caught at Metro Beach, Anchor Bay, and the Dumping Grounds. I fished the Belle River in Ontario and went 4 for 5 the biggest is in the picture you seen. Unsettle weather the past couple days get those Muskie really going. Just play it safe and watch the weather.

June is the beganing of some of the best rod and reel fishing on Lake St. Clair. Casting for Bass both large and small is the most fun one can do and never get tired of catching hard fighting fish. 4 of us caught 50 bass yesterday using a varity of baits. We found fish in close so we had to use a little stealth. You most release the bass till the opener but who cares we had a ball. We also caught pike, muskie, and rockies. Great day great fun come out and try this.
