I got a chance to get out with one of my good friends Terry Weiler of 519 At Ease Charters. I was suppose to meet him at Old Women's Bend at 1:15. I had never launched at Old Woman's so therefore I did not know that stretch of river. Terry has a very cool setup up, enclosed sides, heaters going. It is a very very condusive environment for all ages. It is very comfortable. My next boat will be enclosed, no doubt about it.
Terry and I both like to pull plugs, most everything that I have learned, I have learned from Terry and he has been most generous with his knowledge of how to fish steelhead by pulling plugs. Terry knows how to pull plugs. He has also added addtional techniques of float spawn down thru his plugs to give those people that need to have a fishing pole in their hands.
Today I had an opportunity to meet John Clellend. He lives right by Old Woman's Bend and was extremely knowledgable about the river, and the stretch that he fishes. Since we started later and the skies were high and sunny, I was not expecting much but sunshine and talking. But that wasn't the case. We went 3/6 with all fish coming on silver and chartruese. We had all the other bites on black and silver.
