hello grasshoppers,  It is that time of year again when our silvery anadromous friends begin to make their annual migration to seek out their spawning waters and places of origin.

I was out recently for my first voyage of the year and was handsomely rewarded for my efforts.  BUT let me tell ye, the pungent aroma of skunk was incredibly strong on all the anglers that I encountered when I arrived at the water.  Skunked as they were, they tried to forewarn me of poor fishing, but I brushed them aside and continued on my way, for I was on a metallic seeking mission and no foul smelling fools were going to stop me now.  I trudged onward until I reached my secret destination below a man made coffer dam. Within a few drifts the smell of skunk that had tried so hard to embed itself upon me, had vanished, and a silvery chrome torpedo was coaxed into my grasp. Over the next 30 minutes, many many more metalheads were brought to hand and I finally had to part ways.  As I strutted my way back to my vehicle, I could see the look of wonderment in the eyes of the skunk scented anglers, with one quick question shot in my direction..."Did you catch anything?", they asked. I turned to them and replied..."I did quite well." and with a wink of my eye , I turned away and exited to my vehicle before they could begin questioning me in their bewildered states. Ahhh, another day on the water for chrome. Life couldn't get any better.
