Fishing Location: Oscoda
Fishing is picking up some in Oscoda. Went 3-4 in shallow yesterday, fish were 10, 13, and 14lbs. Two had some color and the other was a silver fish. Marked a few here and there but not a whole lot yet. Fishing Location: Manistee Manistee/Wellston Area Conditions Best Fishing Times
Watch the water temp. Right now the temp is around 100 down and the fish are stacked 100-150 down in 150-200 FOW. Big white flashers and flies along with meat rigs and some plugs have been taking good boxes. With the current north wind look for temps to cool and fish to return to the harbor and beach but if the temp doesn't make the 50's they won't be around the shallows in force. The higher the fish are the more they are taking Silver Horde Ace Highs and the lower they are the better the flashers. Fish have been stretched north and south along the bank just watch the nets. FISHED LUDINGTON EVE OF SUNDAY AUG 17TH AND AM AND PM OF 18TH. SUNDAY EVE HEADED NORTH TO LIGHT HOUSE AND BATHHOUSE. HEARD REPORTS OF 50 FT, ENDED UP PICKING UP ONE COHO IN 100 FT OFF THE LEDGE ON A SPOON. MONDAY AM PICKED UP 3 KINGS AND A COHO IN THE SAME SPOT STUCK TO THE 100 FOOT DROP ABOUT A MILE OFF SHORE, OTHER BOATS WERE HAVING SOME LUCK MOSTLY GLOW SPOONS LOST 2 FISH. MONDAY PM HEADED SOUTH TO POWER STATION ABOUT 4 MILES, LOOKED FOR FISH NO LUCK, BUT DID PICK UP 3 WORKING OUR WAY IN CLOSER TO SHORE AND TROLLING BACK TO LAUNCH, TOTAL OF 8 FISH FOR THE TRIP. 3 ON DIPSYS AND 5 ON DOWNRIGGERS 5 KINGS AND 3 COHO, BIGGEST KING AROUND 12LBS. Went 4/5 (two kings, two cohos) in 100 FOW off Mona Lake this morning before being blown off. Hits came on Blue Bubble flasher/fly 150 back on dipsy set on 3 and 50 down on rigger and also on dreamweaver blue dolphin spoon 60 down on rigger. Yeppers! The fish are in the river and at the Dam. There are not a ton of fish, but enough to hook into a few. Fish are in the entire system from the Dam down to the lake right now. Most fish are still out on the big pond, but with the rain yesterday, the staggers pushed up and the river is getting plenty of fish to fish for. Fishing Location: Wellston

Just got back from the West Coast. As usual the fishing was great the past two weeks, Frankfort area was early averaging 58 degree temperatures. I caught the tail end of it all pier fishing and managed 6 fish between the three main fishing cities, the largest near 20 pounds.
The hurricane south winds have now stifled the bite with the few fish caught almost exclusively in the early morning. Boat fishing is still on but pier fishing is now slow for the time being. I'm going back just prior to the labor day weekend and will likely fish round 2 for a week or so. Write me labor day weekend for an update in the above cities. Over the next month I'll be fishing most of the Big Lake piers from north to south. Keep me informed and I'll try to do the same. More on the way- I mean fish of course. Just watch out for the masses this weekend-daytime boats that like hooked fish and crowded piers and tangled lines. Avoid the mess. Fish at night after 11pm until daylight.
