Just got back from our best trip ever to Manistee. My 12 yr old son and I caught 21 kings and 1 coho over three days of fishing (about 7 hrs per day). Fished Thursday evening until Sunday morning. Limited out Thurs, Fri, Sat and caught 3 yesterday morning. All fish caught in and around the harbor mouth or within a mile of the harbor fishing to the South in 25 - 42' of water. We did good on chrome/purple and chrome/blue j-plugs, glow green ladderback j's and double glow dreamweaver plugs in low light. 14 - 16' down 50 - 75' back on the riggers. 2.2 - 2.9 mph. Caught 7 fish on a flat line out the back with 1.5 - 3 colors lead and a 2-tone green glow deep thunderstick depending on boat traffic. Biggest fish 20.5#. Lots of 13-16# fish and all but 3 were silver and had great meat. Better get up there soon and catch them!!

Fished above the coffer 9/6. There are some salmon but are still hard to catch as i said in my last report. Salmon are very silver still and the peak should be soon providing we get some cool weather. Tight lines

SALMON, SALMON, SALMON, after the hurricane rain came through the river went up and the Silver fish came in, No one went home without big fights and a cooler full! This weekend coming has to be the peak, come up or forever hold your peace! Hitting on #4 spinners, and cranbaits, my buddy was flyfishing , so streamers were the ticket every color, they were screaming the reels. I tell you this casue im done for the season, but Im telling you its this week!!! or Nothing!

Fishing is excellent on the holland piers right now. I have been doing well throwing spoons in the dark or early morning hours. Grn/glo locos and gr/glo KO's have been the ticket for me. I'll be out fishing for the next week or so then it's time to get this show on the road.

Perch are hitting near north of the pier in 10-12 ft of water. minnows or worms, both worked great. Salmon are coming in to the shallows and lots of people were trolling around the dozens of perch fishing boats. Salmon are hitting almost anything in waters from 15-80 feet, fishing just off the bottom. Tonight should be more of the same.

Has anyone fished for salmon on the Carp river north of St Ignace??? If so have you done any good, Also how about the Pink salmon run at the Soo, anybody doing any good up there?? Thinking of going this weekend, any and all help much appriciated!! Craig
