fished 8/15 late start in morning went 0 for 5 short srikers went out later that night 5 kings 2steelhead green splatter back jplugs with monkey puk flashers and white and pink flys put stinger hooks on everything caught all fish that hit.fished salmon tournment 8/16 7to2 3 kings 2 coho water real rough lake mich 6ft rollers others in tournment fished the bay and killed the fish.went back out 8/17 morning fished the bay by cannery 3 man limit of kings by 8 am came back to dock grabed a bite went back out 9am took 1 king 1 laker.Fished against all charter captins so we didnt do well in tournmet.sat morn all fish came on jplugs all the kings we caught were over 14lbs 3 to 4 yr olds.Charter captins ben doing real good on black snakes in that area.launched boat at glenarbor an fish this area all weekend eveybody slaying big kings what a great weekend of fishin find the cold water 44degrees an you will hit fish 40 to 80 ft water. Went out of Muskegon on Saturday morning. 6-7 all Kings. Fished 50-95 Feet of Water. Three largest fish came after all the boats went in (between 10:00am-1:00pm). Five were caught on Walker Deeper Divers and one on a Slide Diver. Five different baits caught fish. Silver jplug, Fish catcher / Green and silver fly, Green, orange crush, and blue spoons all caught fish. Walker 124's set at 1/2 and 80-120 feet out, Walker 107's set at 2 and 60 - 90 feet out, and the slide diver was set on 6 and 90 feet out with a 30 foot lead to the spoon. Stayed away from the pack of boats right in front of the piers. We headed south towards the nets making about 4 loops staying in about 50-60 foot of water and picked up four then at 10:30 trolled northwest out to 80 and picked up the last 2 in 80-95 foot of water. We had great fishing in Pentwater Fri and Sat. 14 fish Friday, 5 Kings, 4 Steelies, 5 Coho. Saturday, we ended up with 11 Kings, 1 Steelie, 1 Coho. Fished south, from the dunes past the point 60-110 FOW. Most of the action came on Plugs on 3 and 5 color cores. Fishing Location: Pentwater
Saturday out of Pentwater was very slow, radio chatter way down everyone seamed to be struggling. Finally went 3 for 3 with 1st fish comming after 11am on lead core as I started pulling lines in; 2nd after popping rigger loose. Both on pink & blue's. Made one more pass thru for 3rd fish from dippsy set on #3 80ft back with blue dolphin, all in about 80fow. 2 kings 1 laker. Fishing Location: Lake Michigan
Fished both 8/16 and 8/17 early AM. Left the dock by 5AM both days. Had 1st fish in the box by 6:10. Both days ended up 4 for 5. Fished in 40 to 70 FOW, 30 to 40 ft down.
