My wife and I went out this morning and had our limit(50) of real nice gills in about 2 1/2 hours on worms and wax worms. What a beautiful day. It's great to be retired.

Wow I had a great week fishing local TC lakes with fly rod and rubber spiders. Got fish in every lake, some lakes produced very good size fish. (Long and Fife) Fished the shore lines,morning and evening hunted schools of gills. and caught them. I was surprised the fish were so shallow. Great fun, and good eats. Bob

I had a great time catching Blue gills on Long Lake TC last weekend. I fished 3 to 5 feet of water with a fly rod and rubber spider. The fish were 6 to 9 inch range, and hit real well. This was the most fun I've had catching in a long time. I was surprised that a fly worked so well this time of the year. I'd tell you folks how many I caught, but it would sound unbelievable, give it a try and find out for your self. Good eats Bob

CHRIS...Bluegill as well as other fish (check computer) will spawn all through the season if conditons are right(temp..oxygen..food source..etc). Spawn is in full swing in South Cental Mich. now. Survival rates tend to drop due to advancing seasons, more active predation, lower O2 levels..the list goes on. Treat it as the first spawn..It will not effect production. enjoy the angling. <>< DAN MACK ><>

Caught 20 really nice gills up to 9 1/2". Over half were still on the beds????? Strange. Not as thick as mid-June (when limits were the norm and up to 11"!), but males were still spawning all over the boat. Never seen gills on cleanly fanned beds this late. Saginaw Bay has also been very productive this summer and heading back soon. Crawler harnesses on in-line boards and weights 25-40' back. Chartreuse and purple have been best colors. Can't wait to hit Manistee for some big kings. Working Sucks - Fishing Rocks!

The mayflys are hatching and the Herring are biting caught my limit in McKay Bay east of Cedarville yesterday and have heard reports of Herring biting behind Drummond Island.Will post pictures today at www.fenlongotrentalsonline.com

Been doing well on some nice gills lately and a few crappies. There is going to be a free carp fishing contest this weekend (Sat&Sun) at Kent at turtlehead parking. If you've never tried, come out and see what its all about. Prices will be awarded every couple of hours starting at 10 am. It's free fishing weekend, so no license needed.
